Who is Shauna Rowe, RDN?

I’m Shauna Rowe, RDN, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and the heart behind Dixon Dietetics. I was born and raised in Queens, New York, by Jamaican immigrant parents, and some of my earliest memories of food are rooted in my mother’s kitchen. My mom loved to cook and bake, and through her, I learned that food is about so much more than what’s on the plate. It’s love, comfort, connection, and care.

I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Howard University and complete a year-long dietetic internship. I began my career working with patients in skilled rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes, but over time, I realized my heart was pulling me toward women’s health and the incredible journey of becoming a mother.

Today, I specialize in nutrition for fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. I believe women deserve to feel supported, nourished, and confident in their bodies during these incredibly important seasons of life. My approach is rooted in evidence-based nutrition, but it’s also rooted in compassion. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nourishing your body, and my goal is to meet you where you are and help you find what works for you.

My passion for fertility nutrition is deeply personal. I live with endometriosis, adenomyosis and I am currently walking through my own TTC  journey. I know firsthand that the road to motherhood doesn’t always look the way we imagined it would. There can be hope, excitement, uncertainty, disappointment, and so many emotions in between. My own journey has deepened my desire to create a space where women feel heard, supported, and never judged.

Dixon Dietetics was also born out of love and legacy.

Whether you’re preparing your body for pregnancy, navigating fertility challenges, growing your baby, or adjusting to life postpartum, I’m here to remind you that you deserve to be nourished, supported, and cared for, too.

This work is personal for me and it’s an honor to walk alongside you on your journey!

our legacy

Dixon Dietetics is more than a name. It is a legacy of love, nourishment, and care.

I named my practice in memory of my mother, Joyce Dixon, a woman whose life was defined by the way she cared for others. She was an incredible cook and a natural nurturer. In her home daycare, she cared for mothers and babies, creating a space where families felt safe, loved, and supported.

Some of my earliest lessons about nourishment came from watching my mother. She taught me that feeding someone is about more than providing food it is one of the ways we show love. A warm meal, a listening ear, and a helping hand can make someone feel cared for during some of life’s most important moments.

When I created Dixon Dietetics, I knew I wanted her spirit of nurturing to live on through my work.

Today, I have the privilege of supporting women through their own journeys toward motherhood from preparing for pregnancy and navigating fertility challenges to nourishing their bodies during pregnancy and postpartum. In many ways, this work allows me to continue what my mother started: caring for women and babies and helping families feel nourished and supported.

Dixon Dietetics is my way of carrying her legacy forward.

While I can’t give my clients the same meals my mother lovingly prepared or the comfort she gave to the families she cared for, I can offer something rooted in that same spirit: evidence-based nutrition, compassionate guidance, and a place where women feel seen and cared for.

Her legacy lives on in the name, in the work, and in every woman I have the honor of supporting.
